Leading construction logistics and building fit-out specialist, with an annual turnover of £23 million, Alandale Logistics www.alandaleuk.com has just announced it has purchased and is moving to a 12,500 sq ft office in Selsdon Way on the Isle of Dogs.
Alandale, whose clients include the Australian shopping centre giant, Westfield, and leading construction companies Bovis, Mace, and Skanska; plans to retain 239 members of staff and increase its workforce by at least 50 employees. The company's move is a result of a seven month consultation with Gateway to London.
Alandale's decision to purchase the site demonstrates its long-term commitment to the vibrant Docklands region. Benefits of the Selsdon Way office space include first class transport links and neighbouring Canary Wharf's excellent shopping and entertainment facilities.
Mike Stocker-Harris, Finance Director, Alandale, commented: "We are thrilled to have purchased this site as the benefits of the location will be instrumental in ensuring we attract the high calibre staff we need to continue our ambitious growth programme. The Selsdon Way site will accommodate surveyor, buying, sales, finance, security, human resource and administration staff. We are extremely grateful to Gateway to London, whose expertise and on-going negotiations undoubtedly ensured we sealed the deal."
Gateway to London carried out extensive property consultation work, drawing on its insight into properties about to come onto the market and finding an office in a suitably dynamic location.
Aman Dalvi, Chief Executive, Gateway to London, added: "Gateway to London's tailor-made service is designed to meet companies' specific requirements and ensure they maximise the wealth of opportunities in London Thames Gateway. We're delighted that our assistance has helped Alandale make the right move."

Greenwich Peninsula Office Space Gets Snapped Up
Transport for London has secured 135,000 sq ft of office space in Quintain and Lend Lease's Greenwich Peninsula Central business district. In a major boost for east London, the transport body will take a 20-year lease at the site, which overlooks the O2 arena. Construction will shortly begin on the Terry Farrell & Partners designed office scheme, and TfL will occupy the space in 2009.
Quintain and Lend Lease, who have established a 50:50 joint venture for the development, and will each invest a maximum of £60 million in debt and equity, will also develop a second 110,000 sq ft office building. The two buildings will form part of the 3.5 million sq ft business district at the £5 billion Greenwich Peninsula redevelopment that will also include 10,000 new homes, 150 shops, restaurants and 48 acres of green space. Progress on the development continues to gather momentum.
