Gateway to London Sponsor the Havering Business Awards

Rewarding excellence and innovation in east London, Gateway to London sponsored and judged The Havering Business Awards 2007 (www.haveringbusinessawards.co.uk) which culminated in a lively Awards Ceremony at Maylands Golf & Country Club on Friday 28 September.  Presented by Ruby Wax, the awards, which are a talking point for local professionals, were open to all businesses within the London Borough of Havering.

The principal award, the ‘Havering Business of the Year' was scooped by Avalon Abseiling Limited, a professional abseiling company who also won the Innovation Award category. Beating off stiff competition from 35 other entries, Avalon ultimately demonstrated that it met the criteria of being the Havering business that performed best this year.

Phil Boyce, Managing Director, Avalon Abseiling Ltd, commented:

"Winning Business of the year is absolutely fantastic. It has taken a lot of hard work and dedication over the last 12 years to get to where Avalon sits today, and I owe this success to my family and Co Directors for all their hard work and perseverance.
