Thames Gateway Bridge Statement

Responding to the deferment of the decision on the Thames Gateway Bridge and the reopening of the inquiry, Aman Dalvi, Chief Executive of Gateway to London, who presented evidence to the planning inquiry said:

"This is disappointing news for Thames Gateway London businesses, particularly given the extensive work that was put into the inquiry and the two year wait for a decision."

"The bridge is vital to the ongoing economic development of the Thames Gateway and the Government's aims of delivering long-term regeneration.  It is also widely seen by business as the most needed piece of new transport infrastructure in the region."  

"Gateway to London remain committed to the Thames Gateway Bridge and will continue to work hard to highlight the widespread benefits of such an important strategic road link that would connect businesses from across the Thames Gateway, the south east and the rest of the UK."
