The Survey Says: London Thames Gateway Businesses To Grow, Despite Recession
Findings from two recent surveys reveal that businesses in London Thames Gateway have remained positive, despite the national credit crisis. According to Business Link's Survey of 3,200 small to medium sized enterprises in London carried out in May 2009, 62 per cent of east London businesses anticipate growth and almost 60 per cent are planning their business's growth over the coming year.
John Williams, Chief Executive, Gateway to London, commented: "London Thames Gateway's affordable properties, excellent transport infrastructure and access to a huge and diverse labour pool has helped stave off the most damaging effects of the credit crisis for a number of businesses. Gateway to London looks forward helping many more of them through these tough trading conditions by signposting business intelligence and helping them make the right move".
Similarly, in the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham's 2009 Business Survey, 20 per cent of employers expect staff numbers to increase over the next 12 months.
