Go-Ahead for Revised Royal Arsenal Masterplan
Greenwich Council has granted outline planning permission for 3,771 new homes in Warren Lane and Royal Arsenal, Woolwich, as well shops, restaurants, cafes, offices and a new hotel.
Aman Dalvi, Chief Executive, Gateway to London, enthused: "This is expected to generate 2,400 jobs and will include just under 1,000 affordable homes so it's great news for local people and local businesses alike."
Initial plans, which were approved in August 2006, were revised after it was confirmed that Woolwich will have a Crossrail station. Crossrail will provide a direct rail link between the London Thames Gateway and the Thames Valley, from Abbey Wood and Shenfield in the east to Heathrow and Maidenhead in the west.
