Gateway to London Makes A Splash At Recycling Exhibition

Gateway to London's targeted programme focusing on environmental technologies and the opportunities to secure investment in the region from this rapidly growing sector, continues to build momentum. Following last year's success, Gateway to London took a major London Thames Gateway presence to the environmental technologies industry's leading expo in September.

This year's Recycling & Waste Management Exhibition attracted over 9,000 visitors and 500 exhibitors, and the London Thames Gateway stand, with its minimalist look and use of technology and video, proved a big hit.

Getting the press excited, the team showcased the findings from its recent Annual Business Survey, as well as the recent arrivals to the region: Bywaters' Materials Recovery Facility and energy efficient heating company, CESenergy.

Making a splash, Gateway to London's eye-catching exhibition stand reflected its confidence in the sector and it didn't go unnoticed! Local environmental technology experts Closed Loop Recycling and FJ Church were also on hand to answer questions and the London Thames Gateway floor map proved to be a real talking point. Inundated with enquiries from visiting delegates and trade press, Gateway to London reminded attendees that London Thames Gateway is the leading location for environmental technology companies in the UK.

London Thames Gateway's cluster of like-minded organisations has grown significantly over the last 12 months, reflecting the region's improving offer of access to a high density, high consumption population; a vast range of affordable quality properties and sites; a large pool of knowledge; pro recycling legislation; and the fastest growing transport infrastructure in Europe.

The Gateway to London team is working closely with a wide range of companies who expressed an interest in the region, to help them to develop projects and identify sites.
