Celebrate the Journey - Millennium Performing Arts

Gateway to London helps a diverse range of businesses to achieve their goals and Millennium Performing Arts is certainly one of the most creative and vibrant. This award-winning performance arts school had ambitious plans to leave their old building in Hampstead, launch a new programme of courses, expand their existing timetable and free themselves from cost restraints.

Following a referral in November 2006, Gateway to London contacted the school, certain that London Thames Gateway would present them with new opportunities. Working to ensure the best possible solution, the team researched the company's needs and introduced Millennium to several prospective locations in London Thames Gateway.

Working closely with the Millennium team for over eight months to meet very specific requirements, Gateway to London's local relationships and persistence paid off. In September 2007, after bringing the school together with the Greenwich Waterfront Regeneration Agency, a breakthrough was made.

Millennium Performing Arts were introduced to their perfect permanent site in the Royal Arsenal, Woolwich. However, work to transform the site into a purpose built location would take two years. Gateway to London rose to the challenge of finding an interim site and surpassed expectations, sourcing a temporary location close to the permanent one.

The new bigger site has delivered on every level. Forty jobs have been retained for London, and additional staff are expected to take up new roles. Millennium has filled its allocation of students, playing host to 140 students across three years.

"They were fantastic help! Amazing! Gateway to London's assistance has been invaluable" said Donald McLennan, Director, Head of Ballet, Millennium Performing Arts.
