The Games Legacy

The Olympics will ensure that London has some of the finest sports facilities for hosting national and international events for many years to come.  It will also facilitate the creation of the London Olympic Institute, a world-class institution for sport, culture and the environment, which will provide facilities and services for elite athletes.

The Games will contribute directly to the regeneration of an entire community in the Lower Lea Valley - for the direct benefit of everyone who lives there - as well as wider communities in London Thames Gateway, bringing people together and acting as a catalyst for social and economic change.

Businesses in London Thames Gateway will also benefit from the Olympics, not just in meeting the needs of the Games in London, but also from the increased economic success that the Olympics will bring.  Business will come from all over the world and a significant proportion of this will be focused on the London Thames Gateway area.
