Dairy Crest
Dairy Crest is a household name and the UK's premier chilled dairy foods company. In November 2001 Dairy Crest completed a 15million investment in Dairy Crest London creating the UK's first 'super dairy'. This investment doubled the capacity of the dairies division located in Chadwell Heath, creating a state of-the-art facility capable of processing 400 million litres of milk a year. The company's production and distribution for London and the South East is managed at the site, which also serves a national market.
Gateway to London has recently helped Dairy Crest in their dialogue with the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham to ensure that a nearby residential development would not impact on their operations. By ensuring Dairy Crest's inclusion in the planning process, Gateway to London has helped to secure the future employment of the 382 staff currently working at the Chadwell Heath site and enabled further investment and the continued development of Dairy Crest's East London operations.
